NASA, Kemah, Moody Gardens and Galveston

My sister-in-law will be here tonight with my nephew. We're planning a day outing to NASA and Kemah on Saturday, and a day trip to Galveston on Sunday: mostly for Moody Gardens.

Any tips, tricks, advice, etc? Any websites where I might get some discounts and/or coupons?

I'm sure NASA and Moody Gardens have coupons on their websites, although they are never for much $$ off. You used to be able to get 1/2 price coupons for NASA at some grocery stores, sometimes McDonalds, but I don't know if those are out at all right now.

NASA was great - we went 2 summers ago and it was a great place for kids. More to see and do than I had imagined. We didn't get to do the train/tram ride because we waited so long that the kids were worn out, but it looked enjoyable.

I haven't been to Moody Gardens in years, so no advice there!

We went to Kemah a few weekends ago. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack and generally just walked around and hung out. We did a few rides, but they are incredibly expensive! I think the big boat that you can go out on is around $15 per person and carnival rides are $3-4 a person depending on the ride. You can purchase a wristband for $16 for all of the rides, as much as you want (The big boat ride is not included in this!).

Just be prepared with some sunscreen and hats as it is HOT!! Plus, all of the places you mentioned are really expensive, especially for food. Choose carefully :)

I was unimpessed with both NASA and Kehma. Spent a lot of $ to trade sweat with a lot of grumpy people.

We spent today at NASA. We actually stopped at a visitor center and got better discounts than we could have with the coupons we had on hand. We had a great time! We almost missed their best "main building" attraction because we didn't stop at the info booth to figure out what in the heck we were doing. It's the one that shows the movie and then you move into the "star room" or whatever they call it.

The food there is terrible and overpriced! That was really my only complaint, though.

We skipped Kemah because we were tired. Tomorrow, though, we're still planning on Moody Gardens.

I would like to take the kids to see the Grossology exhibit at NASA. Anyone been? They went to the one in OKC and LOVED it.
