The thread about stainless steel cleaner made me think of this.

I saw this somewhere recently and I can't remember if it was on this board. There's supposedly a new application where kitchen appliances can be painted with a stainless steel product. Has anyone heard of this? Do you know anyone who has this done professionally to their appliances?

I have all white appliances with the dishwasher and the refridgerator being practically brand new. The stove and microwave look brand new even though they aren't. They are really good-looking appliances (I'm not crazy about the stove) but my kitchen would look better with stainless steel but there's no way DH would go for $3000 worth of new appliances - can't say I blame him.:) It would be foolish.

I found the link:

I notice it is the home builders product of the year 2007. Still, I wonder if anyone around here has the expertise to do this professionally yet? I wouldn't dare do something like that myself.

It looks like a great product! I personally would be hesitant to use it on a fridge or stove. Seems like a lot of work to me. A dishwasher wouldn't be so bad though! I've also seen people use this adhesive stainless steel sheeting to "wrap" the doors of refrigerators and dishwashers. To me it seems like the amount of detail work on a stove might not turn out well or look home done ya know?

You can actually buy the product and do it yourself. I painted my vent hood and range top to match my fridge and dishwasher. It was a special spray paint that is heat resistant and made to paint appliances. It looks great and has held up well. I'm pretty sure the stainless steel product is similar.

I would be afraid to do it myself. I wouldn't mind having it done professionally but from the link it appears to be something which is fairly new. I'm thinking it might be better to wait awhile until someone or some business has a lot of experience in applying it.

My appliances look good but they are white and my cabinets are white but don't match the appliances exactly so to me the kitchen looks a little "off".
