Ok, let me the first to start a new thread!
If you wanted a nice night out like say anniversary or something where would you choose? I'm thinking Jaspers, Perry's or Hubbel and Hudson.

If those three were my choices, then I'd go Jaspers (because I've never gone).
If I had any choice though, I'd probably go Kobe, because I love Japanese and we go rarely.

I probably wouldn't go to Perry's (I don't think we've been there since Market Street was built!), but it's a toss-up between Jasper's & Hubbell & Hudson. I'd recommend making a reservation if you decide on H&H, though. And although I have no complaints about H&H's service, I hear some people say that it can be spotty there. I'd probably flip a coin - I love both places!
Edited... what about America's?

I am hoping to get ideas, I just gave my top three. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I forgot about Kobe, is that on Sawdust?

Yes, Kobe is on Sawdust. There's a sushi place on the northbound feeder right after Wdlds Pkwy, too. I haven't tried it, either, but now that I've discovered I like sushi, I keep meaning to.

Dd just went to Uni Sushi in Market Street with family friends so I'll let you know how it is.
BTW, Pho/Sushi grill on 242 and I-45 has really great sushi! I don't actually eat it but my family tells me it's yummy!

OK, for a date night, I would go with Perrys. They are easily the most romantic. Other than that, it would be a tossup between H&H and Jaspers. I've had great meals at both places, but Jaspers has been off lately. When it comes to America's I am not the biggest fan. I have never been wowed there. It all seems mediocre and over priced. But I may just have bad luck there.
If you go to Perry's get the Pork Chop, it is the best in town. For an appetizer, my favorite is the fried Asparagus with crab lump on top, and you have to get the bananas foster for desert. It is delicious, and having them flambe it at the table is always fun.
If you go to H&H get a steak, they are the best in town. Other must tries are the Crisp Texas Buffalo Quail (an amazing rendition on buffalo style chicken, with a Thai flare), the truffle risotto is fabulous and very earthy, and try the granny smith apple tart for desert.
If you go to Jaspers they have great seafood, and their Ribs are my favorite anywhere. You have to get the focaccia bread, and ask for the lobster shooters. Also, no matter what you order, ask for a side of the macaroni and cheese. It is supreme, and completely indulgent. I am not a fan of desserts at Jaspers, but you will probably have eaten so much you will be completely full.

H&H or Jasper's. If you're going to H&H, call ahead and tell them it is a special night out. Cary and Eric will make sure you're taken care of. Totally agree about the Quail, Steaks and Truffle Risotto!! I also LOVE the Scallops and the Crab cakes.
If you're a wine-o, watch out at Jaspers. Wine stored and served at improper temps is off-putting. Also, they seem to always be "out" of what we want and have to do the bait and switcho thing!
Haven't done Perry's in forever due to the crowds, noise level and cigarette smoke. It looks like they've been doing some renovations? Have they stopped the smoking? I'd love to go back - good food!

We went to America's for our anniversary and I was very impressed. The ambience was elegant and quiet. The waiter was superb. The seafood was some of the best I've had. All in all, a good time.
I've been wanting to try Jasper's but never seem to get there. I have never seen smoking in Perry's (maybe the bar?), but then maybe I was no observant. I did not smell it there at all.
Most of all, have a great evening!

My vote is America's, without a doubt the best steak I ever had and I'm not a fan of red meat.
Uni Sushi, I love that place. We just went for my youngest birthday, we've never ordered off the dinner menu however, we normally just order several hot and cold appetizers and different types of sushi. Inside of Uni Sushi is really very serene.

Americas sounds like a good steak house. Where is it?

Woodlands Waterway - next door to Goose's Acre. Gorgeous architecture. Owned by the Cordua family of Churrasco's in Houston.

It's on the Woodlands Waterway. I enjoy sitting on the patio when we go, provided there is shade. I don't know that I'd call it a "steak house". It's kinda different.

You said, "a nice night out like say anniversary...". Chez Nous is a nice place and the food is excellent.

Oh, that Chez Nous reminds me of a place in Conroe, I think at a resort? And naturally, I can't remember the name... there's a billboard I think when you drive through Conroe. They were at the Wine & Food event.

Sally, you posted that ya'll went to Americas a few months ago and it was the best steak you ever had...remember?
I went to Chez Nous several years ago (close to down town?) and it was fantastic!
Wilson, is the place you were talking about Del Lago? They used to have an excellent chef (10 years ago); not sure how they're doing now. But it was one of my favorite places to stay when we had business conferences in the area.

Obviously I'm not Sally, but I think that maybe she means it's not a traditional steakhouse. It's got a contemporary/chic theme and not the lodge-type place with traditional steak dinners that one might think of when talking about a "steakhouse".

I really don't know, CG, I'm not familiar at all with Conroe or Lake Conroe. I've just seen pictures/ads of the new(?) resorts up that way and wonder how some of the restaurants in those resorts are. I think a really fantastic way to spend an anniversary would be a weekend getaway at one of those resorts with the better restaurants... bliss :hearts:

Yes, that would be a great anniversary. You should check out a couple of those "up north" around Conroe area.
And there's always The Woodlands Resort.
