WOODLANDS RESIDENTS. WAKE-UP!!! WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE ANYWAY?!

People try to make it easy for you. Try to explain what’s going on. But, you’re acting like SHEEP. These TCID Propositions are designed for one thing and one thing only – to keep you and me in line. To prevent anyone asserting any kind of control over the “benevolent dictatorship” of The Woodlands Operating Company.

Look at the money that our kind benevolent dictator has poured into this election. Over $142K for one month alone. This after sanctimoniously stating on more that one occasion that they simply wanted us little Hobbits in The Shire to have the form of governance that we wanted.

News flash – WE WANT A CITY. An entity that, among things, CAN and WILL provide some oversight to the developer’s plans and give us local control, accountable to the RESIDENTS.

The Co-Chairs of the VOICE PAC have admitted that “THE PLAN” is to prevent incorporation of the area as a municipality.

The “irrational distrust” of those that are cramming this deal down our throats ain’t so irrational.

A special district will have no planning and zoning authority. Don’t you think it’s time the residents had some voice in this matter?

For years we’ve been told no commercial buildings will be higher than the surrounding tree level. Some have been told no higher than 2-3 stories.

Tell THAT to the people that bought homes in Herald Oaks on that promise, only to find a 4 story office building, with very little buffer, bumping up against their back yards.

You might also want to talk to the folks in Dove Trace about shopping center lights, traffic, noise, etc.

Look at the clear-cutting that’s going on all around us. And there’s this – ah – “exclamation point” butting up on the highway. I can think of another visual analogy, but I’m keepin’ it clean.

They promise that, in exchange for turning over the governance of the entire community to people we haven’t elected, we’ll get to save some money. We’ll get to replace assessment dollars for a deductible taxes. Of course, they don’t tell us fiscally-minded sheep that forking over your governance to the tune of a few hundred bucks starts to look like even LESS of a bargain when you factor in all of the new taxes that will be payable to this unelected board on things like cable, utility bills and other taxable services.
Let’s just ask Donald Trump and his band of Apprentices to take over the community for about 2 ½ years. Might be cheaper in the short run. Or maybe not.

And, now we learn about the BIG SWITCHEROO in terms of exactly how much of that new taxing authority is going to be available to fund public services. If you’re confused about that, all you have to do is wait until 11 days AFTER the election to find out what they’re up to.

This is stupid.

And if we vote for this, we are stupid too.

Either way, you get the governance you deserve.

Stupid as you may say, remember who said it and why. You are talking to adults, some seniors who have been working on this for years and understand the situation in great depth. Those who have lived here nearly their entire life are for the propositions. I have talked to many very astute and knowledgeable people who are relaxing a bit as the day nears when they no longer will worry about annexation. They can turn their eyes to electing a governing body.

Take a deep breath and help those who are making things happen. You certainly have your viewpoint, but hold on! The world just may not be as stupid as you think!

Now it might be wise to share exactly who in TCID is admitting what you say. The dictatorship does not exist except in your mind. I live here and see what happens on a day by day basis. I have many friends who do the same. Who knows, I may feel the same about your position on this matter.

I think some are glad that they are not relaxing in the Federal Hotel Downtown.

Wake up ISG. I know several seniors who are voting "NO" because they are still sharp as a tack.

and so, the plot thickens!

FYI - a real estate agent from Coldwell Banker came to my Mom's house today to estimate what we might be able to sell her home for. We discussed the upcoming vote and she said the real estate community is just as confused as the rest of us. Several reps from the Vote Yes have given them presentations and they still aren't clear about the vote, with their questions not being satisfactorily answered!!!

As deputies began entering a charge of aggravated assault on a police officer, Hickman and a captain called the deputies and ordered them to stop filing reports, get rid of the photographs and release the woman, the letter alleged.

The author of the letter said deputies witnessed the incident during a shift change and that Hickman's wife arrived at the office and picked up the woman.
