Does anyone know of a good site for me to find my next haircut? I don't like those virtual makeover ones like on IVillage because I don't want to have to sign up, register or download anything. If anyone knows of a site that doesn't require all that bother, pls share!

Good luck. My hair is super thick and curly! I can't find a cute style that will work on my hair and I haven't found anyone here yet that can cut it well.

Same here MomofTwo. I may have had it straightened when we met the other day, but my hair is super thick and super curly.

That's the only way my 19-year-old daughter wears her hair. We need to find her a new look.
We're going to try this place when we get there http://www.avedainstitutesbb.com/houston-services.php I've been told that it is affordable and they do good work. It is a beauty school, which is why it's affordable, but they want to get a good grade (plus they have a teacher supervising them) so they do a good job. They also do hair straightening, which is something my daughter wants to have done.

Next time your in the grocery store just check out those hairstyle mags, most are pretty thumbed through. If you see a style you like ,buy it then take in the pic to your stylist. You could also go to the bookstore and look through them there. All the sites I know of that let you try out different hairstlyes make you register and then upload your pic. I like the one on Good Housekeeping.com because it lets you add color and high-lights.

I tried all sorts of websites before I got my most recent haircut. I printed out pics with famous people w/ similar face shapes. When I got to the salon, I just said, "Please give me something that will flatter my face shape." That was all my hairstylist needed. She gave me a great haircut that I love.

Ugh, I have ridiculously thick hair, curly too and when I wear it in a ponytail the 'poof ball' behind my head is actually larger than my head! :p When the ponytail poof gets that big is actually when I know it's time to get that warm-weather hair cut! I also get headaches if I wear a pony tail all day when my hair is grown out and heavy.
I guess I'll check out the good housekeeping thing; hopefully it won't slam me with ads, pop ups and spam email like IVillage did.
