Anyone know of a good one? I have a 4 year old with food allergies that needs some allergy testing.

Welcome to TalkofTheWoodlands.com!!
There's one in Sterling Ridge across from our dentist - Dr. Wheeler, but I can't remember their names. And I've heard good things about Dr. Quintero:

Please let us know ho it goes - I really need to get both of my kids back in (we saw an allergist in Tomball when we first moved here and they're both pretty much allergic to Texas), but that totally scared me off and we haven't been back.

My DH sees Quintero, so I'll third that one, LOL! My cousin's son who is 3 sees Quintero as well.

I go to Dr. Quintero as well. Good experience every time. The testing part is the hardest IMO.

I guess that is what it's called. They mark your back and then stick tray after tray of what look like push pins in your back. Then the arms got a needle type injection. Not a lot of fun.

I think it's called a scratch test. They did that to my boys in Tomball (they were just under 2&5yo) and I don't want to put them through it again :(. But my oldest has constant shiners under his eyes, they both have food "sensitivities" and I'd like to see if we can do something to lessen the severity of my youngest's reactions to insect stings.

My son was just barely 2 years old the first time he had the scratch test. I almost had to leave the room :( Now he has a new allergist who wants to do the *same* test again. I only wanted him tested for a possible latex allergy, but the doctor wants to do a full allergy test. I'm tempted not to have it done and just continue keeping my son away from latex products. This new doctor also prescribed an oral allergy medication that was supposed to help clear up the eczema on his legs, but after 4 weeks, it still hasn't helped *at all*. We used to use hydrocortisone cream on his skin, but this doctor says that doesn't work (although his skin looked better when we used the cream than it does on this allergy medicine :rolleyes1: ) At this point, I'm not as worried about the environmental allergens as I am food allergens (nuts and eggs) and the rash on his skin.

Have you looked into a dairy allergy?

That's one thing I don't think he was tested for. He does eat a lot of cheese and drink a lot of milk. Oh, it would *terrible* if he had a dairy allergy too. There wouldn't be much left for him to eat!

The rashes and picky eating are tell-tale signs of food allergies/sensitivities. Dairy is such a common problem food... sorry to tell you that... I *know* how badly food stuff sucks.
