Is the generator not needed in TW?
We bought one for IKE last year, and don't know if we should get rid of it or move it to TW when we move at the end of this month. (Sorry to hijack your thread) Thanks |

Cajun, it is a Briggs & Stratton 5550 Watt, Model 030245,
retail price as of 9/08 was $699 + tax at Lowe's It runs on gas and oil. We used it a total of about 30 hours during Ike and then our lights came on. Note to sarahrm: It is very definitely needed in TW. I'm selling it because after we went through 10 days w/o electricity and finally found one to buy, I swore I'd never be out again so we bought one of those in-home generators that comes on 30 seconds after power failure and provides electricity to everything in the house. These run $8-10,000 if you are interested in one of these rather than the portables. |
